InterMed Office Hours: Tuesdays and Fridays, 9:30 am to 2:30 pm, Lois Tiedeken, ANP Wednesdays, 8:30am to 2:30 pm, Nancy Wright, FNP
When the Health Center is closed, call 911 for medical emergencies. For non-acute illnesses, if the Health Center is your primary care provider, call Dr. Kristy Pulsifer at 874-1489. Dr. Pulsifer will be at the Health Center on 6/21, to meet P.I. patients and schedule visits. Dental Care: Community Dental has scheduled the dentist for Friday, June 13. The hygienist, Jeannie Ashmore, will be at the Health Center on Friday, July 18, and Friday, September 19. For an appointment and/or further information, please call PJ at Community Dental: 874-1025 x 3018, or Jeannie Ashmore at 766-2982. Foot Care: Ankle and Foot Associates will no longer be providing service at the Health Center. InterMed is searching for a replacement. Note from the Health Center Board: As we await InterMed’s publication of an informational brochure for their new site at the Peaks Island Health Center, we want to let the Peaks community know that InterMed is as pleased as we are with our new association. Our Health Center will continue to treat everyone, and will soon be welcoming our summer residents and visitors. InterMed accepts five national insurance companies: Aetna, Anthem, Cigna, Harvard Pilgrim and Medicare. These claims can be submitted directly to the carrier by the Health Center staff. For those patients with other insurance coverage, payment will be asked at the time of service, and patients will need to submit their claims to their own carriers. To use or to continue to use the Peaks Island Health Center for primary care, patients must choose a primary care physician, even though they plan to be seen by Nancy Wright or Lois Tiedeken on the Island. A list of InterMed physicians from which to choose is available at the Health Center, or a patient may prefer to choose a non-InterMed physician. Please call the office on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Friday for more details. Many thanks from the Board, Health Center staff and patients to Jim Lausier for the flowers in the barrel just outside the Health Center door. CLAMSHELL RACE The 15th Peaks Island July Fourth Clamshell Relay Race will be held at NOON on Friday, July 4th, starting at Greenwood Garden. This quirky race has been run barefoot and in clogs. It has been run quite quickly and walked so slowly, time stood still. Contestants have carried clamshells, stuffed animals, and even a small hibachi. Entire families have run this race. Some runners have worn amazing hats. A select few, John Whitman, for instance, have run in each and every one of the 14 previous clamshell runs. Why not pick up a partner and join us on July 4th for a wacky rerunning of this storied race? Buy a Clamshell t-shirt, purchase a raffle ticket, and join in the fun. This fund-raiser supports our local Peaks Island Health Center. For more information, call Chuck or Sandi Radis at 766-5915. For emergencies or acute illness outside office hours:
